El gran tibur\u00f3n martillo puede alcanzar los 6 metros de longitud y pesar hasta 450 kilogramos. Su esperanza de vida es de hasta 30 a\u00f1os. Los tiburones martillo tienen mejor vista que la mayor\u00eda de los tiburones debido a la amplia distribuci\u00f3n de sus ojos en la cabeza. Al parecer, se han producido m\u00e1s avistamientos en el extremo oeste y la costa norte, pero esto podr\u00eda deberse m\u00e1s a la cantidad de buceadores en esas zonas que a la cantidad real de tiburones. Encontrar un tibur\u00f3n martillo en Roat\u00e1n tambi\u00e9n parece depender en cierta medida de la suerte, ya que a\u00fan no se han identificado patrones de seguimiento definitivos. Los tiburones martillo festoneados tienen la cabeza dentada, redondeada y con forma de pala, mientras que los tiburones martillo gigantes tienen la cl\u00e1sica forma de T. Ambos suelen ser de color gris verdoso con el vientre blanco. Esta majestuosa criatura puede alcanzar hasta 3,5 metros de ancho y 9 metros de largo. Su esperanza de vida puede llegar a los 25 a\u00f1os.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Las rayas \u00e1guila hembras son m\u00e1s grandes que los machos y, cuando ponen huevos, los llevan dentro de su madre hasta que maduran y eclosionan. Los animales marinos producen se\u00f1ales el\u00e9ctricas y las rayas \u00e1guila pueden detectarlas para encontrar presas.
