PADI Bubblemaker Course in Roatan
Roatán is the perfect place for kids to take their first breath underwater with the PADI Bubblemaker program! Designed for children aged 8 to 10 years, this experience goes a step beyond snorkeling — giving them the chance to fully immerse themselves in the underwater world in a fun and safe way.
One of the best parts? Parents can join in too! While the kids are exploring the shallows with their instructor, parents can dive from the same boat, with a different guide — making it a shared family adventure.
Roatán’s calm waters, gentle currents, great visibility, and warm temperatures make it an ideal location for kids to feel safe, comfortable, and confident in the water. The environment helps ensure their first diving experience is fun, stress-free, and memorable.
The Bubblemaker program is more than just bubbles — it’s a playful and educational intro to scuba diving. Kids learn basic dive skills, get familiar with equipment, and have the chance to spot colorful marine life. They’ll love hearing fun facts from their instructor — like how parrotfish poop actually helps create the soft sand on our beaches! (Yes, really!)
And of course, safety is our top priority — especially when it comes to children.

Course Structure
The experience begins with a short introduction where kids learn how their scuba gear works and go over basic safety rules. Instructors explain breathing techniques, hand signals, and what to expect underwater — all in a relaxed, kid-friendly way.
In a calm shallow ocean setting, participants practice using their regulator and mask, learn how to breathe underwater, and get comfortable moving around with their gear at a maximum depth of 2 meters (6 feet).
Once they’re ready, kids enjoy some underwater time under close instructor supervision. They can swim, explore, and have fun blowing bubbles — often alongside colorful fish and coral in Roatan’s shallow reef zones.

Why Roatan Is Ideal for Kids Learning to Dive
Roatan’s calm, shallow waters make it one of the most kid-friendly places in the Caribbean to try scuba diving. Our protected entry points offer ideal conditions for first-time underwater experiences. Typical dive sites for the Bubblemaker experience are: Mandy’s Eel Garden, Overheat, Aquario. These are shallow, have good visibility and plenty of fish. Parents that are certified divers can enjoy the dive as well or snorkel while their kids dive.
Here’s why Roatan is a great choice for letting kids blow their first bubbles underwater:
- Excellent visibility
- Minimal waves and gentle currents
- Warm water year-round
- Exciting but safe marine life encounters
- Close proximity to our dive center
